The Cupboard, the Penn College pantry for students who need food assistance, is available over the holiday break. Dining Services provides the following hours: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thurs. Dec. 17, walk-in access is available; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 6-10, students can email The Cupboard to make an appointment; and 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 11-12, students can visit The Wildcat Express for assistance.

As part of an initiative to increase digital access across the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, The Madigan Library at Pennsylvania College of Technology will receive 40 laptop computers that will enhance access and digital literacy for students. Penn College is among organizations in Bradford, Lycoming and Union counties benefiting from the latest round of awards through the Digital Connectivity Technology Program, an initiative of the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority.

Penn College’s Student Government Association closed out the fall semester with meetings that covered a range of student engagement and campus wellness topics and also presented the opportunity to socialize with the vice president for academic affairs and provost. 

State Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn visited Williamsport on Wednesday to celebrate a $649,900 grant to Lycoming County that will support Phase 1 of the development of the Susquehanna River Walk Extension, a recreational resource that will benefit the community, including Pennsylvania College of Technology students and employees.

Penn College may have been on a 1.5-hour delay Thursday morning, but Rob Hinkal, social media specialist, sprang into action to grab a few snowy mementos to share with the college community and its fans from afar. The annual Poinsettia Sale at Penn College’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center greenhouse begins on Monday, Dec. 9. Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday while the inventory lasts. (The center is closed Saturday and Sunday.) According to the greenhouse elves, a variety of colors are available. Small poinsettias are $8, with large ones priced at $10.
